At Wight Whisky we’re doing things a little differently…

Shaking up the world of English whisky as a brand new, independent distillery based on the Isle of Wight. Shaped by the knowledge of those that came before us, we're experimental in nature, pushing boundaries and twisting up traditions in the pursuit of perfection.

Our modern approach to whisky making ensures each bottle embodies the diverse nature of the island we proudly call home. Our diverse and individual island, situated at the very south of the UK, shapes the unique flavour of our whisky. Internationally recognised for its multi-faceted landscape, unique climate and rare wildlife, the Isle of Wight was awarded UNESCO Biosphere status by the United Nations in 2019. This amazing accolade proudly showcases our island’s community, where people live in harmony with the natural environment to support the world we all live in.

Only barley farmed on the Isle of Wight is used in our single malt whisky and we work hand in hand with Isle of Wight Grain, a non-profit organisation that supports and represents the barley farmers on our island. Their stamp of approval features on the back of every one of our bottles.

Goddards Brewery produce our whisky mash which is brewed and then fermented for over 7 days before the distilling process begins at New Farm – our rural HQ which lies within the beautiful and historic grounds of the Nunwell Estate. Once our whisky has matured we use water from Knighton springs, supplied by the wonderful team at Wight Crystal, during the blending and bottling process.
